To add an ordinate dimension for a linear dimension style, you need to edit the Dimension String type parameter. Create a new ordinate linear dimension style so that any continuous dimensions in the project are not affected when you edit the parameter. Click Annotate tab Dimension panel   (Aligned) or   (Linear). Click Modify | Place Dimensions tab Properties panel  (Type Properties). In the Type Properties dialog, click Duplicate. In the Name dialog, enter a name for the dimension, and click OK. In the Type Properties dialog, for Dimension String Type, select Ordinate. For Ordinate Dimension Settings, click Edit. In the Ordinate Dimension Settings dialog, specify settings for the ordinate dimension. Step 1: Creating Viewpoints for animation.  Under the Viewpoint tab on the main toolbar, you can create various viewpoints for your fly-through, focussing on different parts of the building at different times in the simulation. Set up your view, and then click on the ‘Save Viewpoint button’. The Saved Viewpoints bar will open up on the right showing you the different viewpoints you have saved. After you have a few viewpoints saved, you can create the animation. Step 2: Creating Animation and linking to Simulation Go to the Animator tab, and set up your first view. Click the ‘Record’ Button, and click on your different views in the order you wish them to appear. After you finish, click the stop button. Your animation is now saved on the right. Click on it and delete the Cut buttons that appear in the drop- down under it. This will ensure a smooth transition between views. Now we link the simulation to the newly created animation. Create a toposurface by placing points, by using imported 3D contour data, or by using a points file. Open a 3D view or a site plan view. Click Massing & Site tab Model Site panel  (Toposurface). To create the toposurface by placing points By default, the Place Point tool on the ribbon is active. On the Options Bar, set a value for Elevation. The points and their elevations are used to create the surface. Next to the Elevation text box, select one of the following: Absolute Elevation . Points display at the specified elevation (from the Project Base Point). You can place points anywhere in the active drawing area. Relative to Surface . Allows you to edit an existing toposurface by placing points on it at the elevation you specify. To use this option effectively, you may want to work in a shaded 3D view.
